For information on Fall Indoor League visit our 2009 Fall Indoor Leagues page. Sign-UpYou may register a full team or as an individual for Fall Outdoor League. Individuals who wish to sign up will be used to form a Hat Team based on skill level. Fall 2009 Outdoor registration opens on August 17 and will close on various dates depending on each league (Sept 9 - Monday Leagues, 14th - Wed/Thurs/Sunday Leagues). All registered teams/individuals will be posted a few days before league play starts. If you are not on that list, please contact the Member Services Coordinator at 647-345-8105 or admin@tuc.org immediately. In an effort to ensure competitive games, teams should indicate their level of ability based on summer results, overall experience, and skill level of their players. If you are not sure, contact the League Convenor to discuss. Players who sign up as individuals should also indicate which level they'd like to play. All players must be TUC members. In 2009 we offer both an Intoductory Membership for brand new players playing on only one Fall Outdoor team (cost only $25) and a pro-rated Fall Membership Fee for late member signups or persons playing on more than one fall team (cost only $35), both of which run through to March 31, 2010. Exceptions can be made for the occasional pick-up player or for a newly recruited player. Any such non-TUC player may participate in a maximum of two games in the Fall league, after which they must become a TUC member in order to continue playing. All players must sign the waiver of liability form before stepping on the field, member or not. In order to enforce these stipulations, we rely heavily on the honour system and on our team captains. Please abide by the Spirit of the Game when dealing with this (and any other game) issue. To sign up visit our "How to Register" page or go straight ahead to the Registration section. TUC games follow UPA 11th Edition Rules, with a few exceptions. For Sunday Outdoor League, time permitting (time caps are in place), all TUC games are to 15 points. You must win by 2 or first to 17 if necessary. Other leagues are timed and therefore play to time, not a point total. Each team is allowed 2 timeouts per game in TUC Fall League and there is no overtime or universe point timeouts (as opposed to UPA rules which allow a timeout for overtime). All TUC fall outdoor leagues are 4-3 mixed gender. Teams are encouraged to play both lineups - 4 men & 3 women or 3 men & 4 women - with the pulling team matching the receiving team's ratio. All players must be registered and paid TUC members. Spirit, Safety & FieldsSpirit of the Game is an integral part of Ultimate. In order to encourage teams to play with Spirit, we are requiring all teams to submit a Spirit score as well as a game score after each game. It is the responsibility of both team captains to submit a spirit score for the other team after every game. In the interest of safety, the TUC strongly discourages games from taking place during poor weather or on soggy fields. If the weather becomes severe during your game, the game shall be ended at that point and the score becomes final. Metal cleats are not allowed under any circumstances. Foot blocks are not allowed except with the explicit prior agreement of both team captains. Any footblock, attempted or successful, should be treated as a foul. Since field space is difficult to find, the TUC is always concerned about the possibility of losing currently permitted fields. Permits can be revoked if teams engage in prohibited activities or as the result of complaints from neighbourhood groups. Therefore, we remind everyone of the following policies:
League ContactsThe head convenors for the 2009 Fall Outdoor League are Vikki Shimoda (Sundays), Darren Gray (Monday Co-ed), Rahil Suleman (Monday Men's), Natalie Fitzgerald (Wednesdays), and Matt Denton (Thursdays). General questions about Sunday Fall league should be addressed to fall@tuc.org, general questions about Monday Leagues should be addressed to fallmonday@tuc.org, general questions about Wednesday Co-ed League should be addressed to fallwednesday@tuc.org, and general questions about Thursday Co-ed League should be addressed to fallthursday@tuc.org. However, in order to reduce the flood of emails to the convenor, if you are a player and have a question about the TUC or the league, please ask your team captain first or contact the appropriate person as listed on the TUC Contacts page. Your team captain is your first point of contact with the TUC when it comes to administrative matters. Hopefully this provides all the necessary information to get your Ultimate season rolling.
