Art Hawkins Great Canadian Ultimate Game - Saturday June 16th 1-2pm

Published: Jun 12, 2012 - 03:15 PM

On June 16th, 2012, the city of Toronto, coordinated by the Toronto Ultimate Club will participate in the longest Ultimate game Canada has ever seen! Toronto will host 1 hour of the Art Hawkins Great Canadian Ultimate Game from 1pm-2pm at Sir Winston Churchill Reservoir. We strongly encourage you to join us on the field for this unique ultimate event, an ultimate game touching all major cities of our nation with a singular goal in mind: raising funds for two great charitable causes. FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE GREAT CANADIAN ULTIMATE GAME AND THE ASSOCIATED CHARITIES CLICK ON THE FULL ARTICLE.

Thinking about playing pick-up anyways this weekend? Join us at the centrally located Sir Winston Churchill Park (Spadina & St.Clair) from 1pm-2pm. Reserve your spot in the game using this no-charge online registration link. A minimum $10 charitable donation will be due upon check-in. Can't make this weekend's game? Still want to make a donation to a great cause? You can do so through this secure link from Ultimate Canada.

Art Hawkins Great Canadian Ultimate Game starts in Yellow Knife on June 15th at 10pm, and ends 28 hours later in Victoria, BC. Every hour, players from a different community in Canada will play for either the Red or White team. After 1 hour the score is passed along to the next city and the game continues where it left off. Last years score was a remarkably close 271-269 for the Red team. What makes this event so worthwhile is that 100% of the funds raised go to our charitable causes. Red will represent 'Ultimate Peace' while White will represent 'Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada'. All that is required is a $10 minimum donation to particpate. At the end of the game, 60% of the funds raised go to the winning team, while 40% go to the losing team. A true win-win situation!

Don't miss your chance to take part in this unique Ultimate event. Players of any skill level, both member and non-member are welcome to play and we encourage you to raise as much as you can to support the cause. See you Saturday June 16th at the park, 1-2pm.
