TJSL 2011

Please note that information for the upcoming TJSL 2012 will be posted soon with registration set to open in May. The following 2011 information is posted to give you a sense of what you can expect this season.

All players, age 18 and under (recommended 15-18), are invited to participate in the Toronto Juniors Summer League (TJSL). The leagues are co-ed and open to players of all skill levels. The goals of the leagues are: (i) to have fun; (ii) to learn Spirit of Game; and (iii) to improve individual skills and team strategies. All participants must register as TUC members (cost $30/person) and provide a signed waiver form to the TUC office. As a TUC junior member, you are eligible to play in TJSL for FREE in 2011.

This juniors league is a hat league, which means teams are created by mixing the skill levels of all players who sign up. Depending on the age demographics and skill levels of the players, we will offer different divisions as well (beginner/experienced). If you wish to play with your friends/classmates, please email the convener tjsl@tuc.org with the list of names and you will be placed on the same team. Team rosters will be posted once the teams are set.

The TJSL will be played on various nights and in several locations in 2011, beginning in mid-June. Coaches will be present at all games. If you have any additional questions or difficulties with registration, contact the TUC office admin@tuc.org or the convenor.

Mondays: TJSL Southwest at Buttonwood Park,
Tuesdays: TJSL Northwest at Westview Centennial SS ,
Wednesdays: TJSL Northeast at Agincourt CI,
Thursdays: TJSL Southeast at St. Patrick's SS

Date: Starting Mid June 15-17 to End of August
Time: 6:30 – 8:45 pm
Cost: $30/player (jr membership fee)
Restrictions: Age 18 or under in 2011 (recommended 15-18)

Approximate TJSL Schedule:

• May: Registration begins for TJSL Leagues
• First Week (beginner): Mid-June - start at 6:30 - skills clinic: throwing/catching, marking, SOTG, basic rules, finish with scrimmage
• Second Week (beginner): start at 6:30 - skills clinic: cutting/defending, stacking, advanced rules (fouls, picks, ....), finish with scrimmage
• Third Week: start at 6:30 - first league games
• Last Week: Playoffs between the divisions

Registering for Juniors Leagues

You must be a TUC Member to participate in our leagues. Select the TUC Junior Membership and get registered as a TUC Junior Member. Cost is $35 and includes your eligibility to play in any TUC league throughout the year (with league fees), free TUC membership disc, free TUC LAYOUT e-newsletter, and free TUC member discounts (like discounted VC Ultimate gear).

When you register as a TUC Junior member you are asked if you want to play TJSL - indicate yes and what division you want to participate in. In order to complete your TJSL registration, you must also register seperately for each night that you wish to play on. If you have any problems registering please email admin@tuc.org

Junior players must have a parent or guardian sign the TUC Junior Waiver form and submit it to TUC, to be eligible to play. A 2012 Juniors Waiver form must be completed legibly and submitted to TUC.

Furthermore, TUC has a Juniors Participation Policy that must be adhered to by all Juniors.
