G.T.A. All Star

In 2010, the Toronto Ultimate Club will again send a Mixed Junior 'All Star' Team to the Canadian Ultimate Championships, to be held this year in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Players wishing to participate must be TUC Junior members. For tryouts all participants must submit a completed 2010 G.T.A. Juniors All-Star form and tryouts will begin in late April and/or early May. For additional information contact Gary Wang at juniorallstar@tuc.org

The All-Star team (name TBD) carries on from team DIRT. DIRT is a competitive juniors team that has been to nationals for the last 6 years, in 2009 & 2008 Dirt won the bronze and in 2007 the silver. Nationals are in Sherbrooke in 2010 and the plan is to put in another strong showing and hopefully taking gold this time around. Throughout Dirt's seven year history it has travelled as far as Seattle, Winnipeg, and Ottawa to compete in other junior tournaments.

Here are the events this year's team is planning to attend in 2010:

• Touring Tryouts: April 24-25 and/or May 1/2
• TUF, Toronto, May 8-9
• TUC Summer Experience, Toronto, June 12-13
• TUC Midseason, Toronto, July 17-18
• Mixed Up, Ottawa, July 31-Aug 1
• Nationals, Sherbrooke, Aug 11-16

The team will usually have a training camp leading up to Nationals. Also, to enhance the coaching we will be having some guest coaches from some of the top touring teams.

OPEN PRACTICES AND GAMES

Practices and games are a great way to prepare for try outs and an opportunity for the coaches to get to see you play before the try out day.

Anyone can come to the practices, but you need to be invited to the games.
