2009 Information

Congrats to Team Lotus - 2009 Women's National Champions!

Spring is here and that means time to start thinking of tryouts for the new ultimate season. Lotus is returning for the 2009 season under the leadership of Alyson Walker and Hoodie Lovatt with on going support from Josee Guibord. A third Lotus captain will be voted once the team has formed.

Once again we are structuring our tryouts as a women's combined tryout for all Toronto women's touring teams. With the sucess of last year's Lotus League, we are happy to announce that we have once again obtained field space at BMO fields to host out 2009 tryouts. This year, tryouts will be held over 3 Tuesdays and 2 Sundays from April 14 to May 3 with participation at TUF May 9-10. This will be the only tryouts for Lotus. Lotus will have picked the team by May 12 or shortly thereafter.

Lily and Feisty may extend their tryouts further depending on additional interest following the picking of Lotus. The goal is to begin the tryouts as a big group, then start splitting the groups as the weeks wear on with the intention of putting together tiered teams for TUF and making final decisions for Lotus on the last Monday. It is important to note that this is not a hat league or for fun league. These are our tryouts. We expect everyone attending to be seriously considering playing women's touring this summer. If you know you are not going to play women's, we would like to keep spots open for those interested in trying out.
