NEW ROSTERING RULE FOR WINTER 2012
Speaking of the upcoming Winter Indoor Leagues, there will be a new league rule that is being put in place effective Winter season 2012 and moving forward. This rule should not affect the majority of you but it may affect a small few, and therefore we are sharing it with you as early as possible so that if you need to make any roster changes you can do so now prior to the start of Winter League. As well, so you are aware for future leagues.
The new league rule is as follows:
TUC members may be added to a team as a regular player on only one (1) team maximum in any given league (including multiple divisions). Players may be listed as substitute players on multiple rosters during the regular season in the same league and participate according to the League and Playoff Participation Policy.
In other words, an individual cannot be a regular player on two or more teams in the same league. They can still sub for multiple teams within the same league during the regular season so long as they are a valid TUC member. But they cannot sub during the playoffs if they are a regular player on another team in that same league.
To be clear, this rule applies only to participation within the same league and includes any divisions within that league. So for example Joe is a valid TUC member and plays Tuesday Men’s and Tuesday Lamport League (for arguments sake let’s say the league times don’t overlap). He can be a regular player on 1 team in Men’s Leagues and 1 team in Lamport League. But he cannot be a regular player on 2+ teams in the Men’s League alone or 2+ teams in the Lamport League alone. He can sub for other teams in either league (no limit) and even be listed as a sub on those team rosters. But once playoffs roll around, he is only participating on his 1 men’s league team and 1 Lamport league team on Tuesday nights.
In the near future, Zuluru (the TUC League system) will prevent players from being added as regular players to multiple teams within the same league. For now, players may appear with a ‘Roster Conflict’ note under their name on your roster. If one of your players has a Roster Conflict it is likely that they are listed as a regular player on multiple teams. Starting in the Winter season, this will not be allowed.
Should you have any questions regarding the rule please do not hesitate to contact us.

2011 VOLUNTEER TOURNAMENT
TUC’s annual ‘Volunteer Appreciation Tournament’ played out on the turf of Lamport Stadium on Saturday November 26th. This invite only event was designed to recognize all the great work done by member volunteers over the past year by rewarding them with a fun and relaxed tournament. Whether it was dedicating time towards clinics, leagues, tournaments, meetings, committees and more, there was never a shortage of committed members willing to step into a role or up for a challenge in 2011. Due to the impressive number of volunteers over the past year we had a great turnout at the tournament and were able to organize 6 full teams.
Congratulations to all the volunteer tournament participants and a special mention goes out to the tournament captains; James McCully, Lawrence Wong, Andrew Milne, Hilary Leung, Joe Castro and Craig Stephen. Captains received great prizing courtesy of VC Ultimate for helping us come up with creative team names in line with our ‘Game-Show’ event theme.
All teams played in two spirited qualifying games and a third placement game. In the tournament final, which came down to point-differential, ‘Can I Buy a Foul?’ wearing red, defeated ‘Gratuitous Squares’ in green. Also going undefeated on the day was the ‘Flying Saucer Feud’ in yellow edging out ‘D a Friend’ in black. In the last matchup we saw ‘Spayed & Neutered’ in a vibrant orange take out Alex Tres Bricks wearing blue.
To view all the team photos from the day and for more information check out the HAT tournament page.
