MPS Dome Set-Up Volunteers Still Needed for Oct 17

Monarch Park Stadium - Dome Set-up Volunteers Required

TUC is seeking volunteers for Thursday, October 16 and Friday, October 17, from 8:00am – 5:00pm each day to assist with the Monarch Park Stadium Dome set-up! Volunteers are required for either a 5-hour shift (8am – 1pm or 1pm – 5pm) or a 9-hour shift. No technical skills required, just basic labour of rolling out the dome walls and assembling the small plates that hold the walls together. Volunteers are required to dress appropriately for the weather and for general labour. There will be lunch provided (pizza and drinks) for those who volunteer for the full day (9 hour shift). The Club requires 35 volunteers during each shift so we need lots of volunteers!

How to Volunteer

If you wish to volunteer simply email ed@tuc.org and state your full name, the date(s), and the shift(s) you wish to volunteer for. Also if you are a touring player please include your touring team affiliation for 2014. You can volunteer for as many shifts as you want, but you MUST be present for the entire duration of whatever shift you sign-up for. You are expected to be present once you signup: if for any reason you can no longer attend after signing up please email ed@tuc.org with ample notification. Note shifts are not flexible: it's 8am - 1pm or 1pm - 5pm.

You will receive a confirmation email a day or two prior to the event. Once you are confirmed you are expected to be there rain or shine, unless otherwise notified. Please arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to the start of your shift (so if your shift is at 8:00am, be there at 7:45am please!). Please do not be late! You will check-in at the garage building in the parking lot adjacent to the field, at 1 Parkmount Road.

Volunteer Incentives

  • Receive 4 volunteer points per hour, which can be used towards touring team requirements or TUC Shop purchases
  • TUC branded swag courtesy of VC Ultimate
  • Automatic invite to the TUC Volunteer Appreciation Tournament in November at MPS
  • A pizza lunch is provided by RMI during the lunch break

Hire a Volunteer Program

Want to support the Club, but can't make it out to the dome setup? You can offer to hire someone in need of work to take your place! The program is simple - donate $50 (for a half day) or $100 (for a full day) to the Club and we will hire an unemployed young person to fulfill dome setup/takedown duties on the prescribed date(s). Not only do you support the Club, but you also help a young person earn some much needed income.

We will make sure that the hired volunteer is engaged and working and we will share details with you about their work. We will also provide you with volunteer points (20 per half day, 40 per full day) just as if you were there volunteering.

So if you can't make it out yourself but really want to help, this is your chance to support the Club AND a young person in need of work! If interested in the program contact ed@tuc.org
