Volunteer Appreciation Tournament
Over 100 players came to this years Volunteer Appreciation Tournament, the highest number we have ever had. This years tournament also had a new format, which gave the winning group ultimate bragging rights. The "Seasoned" teams dominated the "Fresh" teams all day, not giving up a single win. The final scoreboard read an impressive 195-130 for the Seasoned crew. They will have to think up of new excuses to get them out of a showdown against the young crowd of TUC as we now know age is not a limiting factor!
The annual Volunteer Appreciation Tournament is an invite only event for all volunteers of the club. Invites were sent out to all those who helped out in 2013, over 250 volunteers! This included volunteers from TUC tournaments, clinics, dome setup/takedown, social events and U23's.
Last year saw 6 teams worth of TUC volunteers converge on Monarch Park to have a great afternoon of fun. This year, with TUC hosting U23 Worlds, that number marginally increased. We love being able to provide this tournament as just another way to say thank you for all of your time. Whether it was a couple of hours at a tournament, or hundreds of hours at Worlds, we appreciate any and all the work you have done.
To get an idea of the volunteer work that has been put in over the course of 2013, check the Volunteer of the Month page here.
Some team MVP prizes will be provided courtesy of VC Ultimate, Steam Whistle and Ulticards!

Theme and Format
The theme of the tournament was FRESH vs SEASONED, and the format was COMMUNAL SCORING.
The whole pool of players were divided into two categories, either Fresh or Seasoned.
Each category will was then split up into 3 teams. Each Fresh and Seasoned team played off against each other with the overall goal being a win for their category. Scores were kept during the individual games and at the end of each round they were all added to the one master scoreboard, leaving us with one big Fresh vs Seasoned score at the end of the day.
The categories were determined by which side of the cut off age the players are on. The average age for both the males and females was determined and players were placed in their appropriate category.
