• Dates: Saturday & Sunday, May 8-9, 2004 (Juniors May 8 only)
• Location: Markham District High School and nearby fields, Markham, Ontario, Canada
• Divisions: Open A (12-16 teams), Open B (12-16 teams), Womens (12-16 teams), Mixed A (12-16 teams), Mixed B (12-16 teams), and Juniors Mixed (4-8 teams)
• Cost: $325 per team (Junior teams will pay $165.50)

Fields: As in the past, the TUT tournament will be using a number of locations in the town of Markham (which is directly north of Toronto). Unfortunately we don't have a single location that can accommodate 60+ teams. This year the fields are even more dispersed than usual since there are a couple soccer tournaments as well as our Ultimate tournament. We'll do our best to keep things as clear as possible.

1. Unfortunately, we do not have a venue that will accommodate 50+ teams. Instead, we will be scattered on various fields throughout the Town of Markham. There are three times when we can all get together: dinner on Saturday at Milliken Mills Park (this is included with tourney fee), the party on Saturday night (The Madison Ave Pub, 14 Madison, 416-927-1722, near Bloor & Spadina subway) and finals on Sunday at MDHS (= Markham District HS).
2. Please download and print the parts of the schedule that are relevant to your team – all the schedule sheets should fit on regular paper if you print them in landscape format. The fields are specified in little boxes. We mostly use soccer fields, but split them into two Ultimate fields (sharing a sideline down the middle). The notations (w), (e), (n), (s) refer to the west, east, north, or south half of the soccer field (eg “MDHS North (s)” refers to the south half of the Markham District HS soccer field “North” that is north of the field called “MDHS South”).
3. We will supply water, fruit, and bagels at the fields. If you run out of water, do send a runner to get more in case we are behind. There are gas stations at 14th & McCowan and Hwy 7 & Markham Rd with outside taps. First thing in the morning – if you’re playing near MDHS, please drop by and pick up water for your team – this will make our delivery job a lot easier.
4. All games will follow UPA 10th Ed rules. Games will be to 15, win by 2, cap at 17. Games have both a start time and an end time. The “time cap” goes on 10 minutes before the end time (eg: if a game says 9:00 to 10:20, the time cap goes on at 10:10). At the time cap, finish the current point, if the game hasn’t been won, then add 1 to the higher score and play until one team reaches this score. (There is no hard time cap, hopefully you’ll be able to finish one point in 20 minutes, but if not, we’ll just push the next games back a bit.)
5. Captains can agree to disallow foot blocks – discuss before each game.
6. Mixed Gender ratio: receiving team picks the ratio (4-3 or 3-4), pulling team must match or must play with only 6 players. (Captains can waive this requirement.)
7. There will be score sheets at each field (look for the clip boards near the water, fruit, and bagels). Please, PLEASE, PLEASE fill in your game scores and Spirit scores (0-5 with 5 being the best) immediately after each game. The toughest part of TUT has always been collecting scores! Without them, we can’t determine who plays whom on Sunday, etc. PLEASE enter the scores on the score sheets. We will alos, hopefully, have walkie talkies at the clipboards – if you call in the scores, we can update the master list at Disc Central.
8. “Frisbee Central” will be at Markham District HS. The Womens, Mixed, and Open finals will be at MDHS on Sunday (around 2:30 or 3:00)
9. Hospital: Markham Stouffville Hospital is east of MDHS on Church Street and 9th Line.
10. There are discs with the tournament logo (thanks to DareDevilDiscs). Merchandise will be available at MDHS on both Saturday and Sunday. Vendors will be GAIA, VC Ultimate, and Dare Devil. Please check them out during byes or during the BBQ.
11. There will be physiotherapists at MDHS on both days. They will do preventative taping (you have to buy the tape) and will work on minor injuries. Check them out!
12. If everything starts to fall apart, or your lost, or you just want to tie up the airwaves … I will be reachable during the weekend at 416-525-5677.

Tie Breakers

Two team tie break

1. If they played each other, Head-To-Head.
2. If didn't play, point differential for i. the two "closest games" if teams are 4-0 or 0-4 (eg if diffs are +12, +8, +6, +1, we use +6, +1.) ii. the two "closest win/loss" if teams are 3-1, 2-2, or 1-3 (eg if diffs are +6, +3, +1, -4, we take the +1 and -4.)
3. If still tied, point differentials for all games.
4. If still tied, points "for" in two games from 2.
5. If still tied, points "for" in all games.
6. If still tied, flip discs.

Three team tie break

1. If they all played each other
   1. Record among the three teams.
   2. Point differentials among three games.
   3. Points "for" among the three games.
   4. Point differentials in all games.
   5. Points "for" in all games.
   6. Flip two discs.
2. If they didn't all play each other - label them as X, Y, Z, where where X played Y and Z, but Y and Z didn't play each other. Consider the team W (that didn't play X).
   1. If W is seeded below X,Y,Z, then X wins the tie break.
   2. If W is seeded above X,Y,Z, then X loses the tie break.
   3. After determining where X lies, the tie between Y and Z is broken as in the two team tie break.
