Beginner/Recreational Clinic

Sunday June 10th at Sunnybrook Park from 11 AM to 1 PM

In conjunction with our Summer Experience Ultimate tournament, the Toronto Ultimate Club will be hosting a Beginner/Recreational Ultimate Frisbee clinic.  Come participate in our clinic and once it’s done you can check out some of the tournament action.

This clinic is geared towards people who have little or no ultimate experience or anyone looking to improve their throws.

Topics covered:

  • Throwing (backhand and Flick)
  • Catching (pancake and both rim types)
  • Pivoting
  • Basic Cutting
  • Basic Marking
  • Basic Defense

Intermediate Ultimate Skills Clinic

Saturday June 16th at Sir Winston Churchill Park 11am to 1pm

The Toronto Ultimate Club will be hosting an Intermediate Ultimate Frisbee clinic prior TUC’s leg of Ultimate Canada’s Art Hawkins Great Canadian Ultimate Game (AHGCUG) that will be taking place at 1:00 PM at Sir Winston Churchill Park. Check out the AHGCUG flyer for more information on what the “Great Canadian Game” is about.  As the AHGCUG is for charity (one team plays for Ultimate Peace and the other for The Boys and Girls Club of Canada) we are encouraging that all clinic participants take place in the game.  No matter if you take part in the game or not a portion of your clinic fee will go towards the team of your choice.  Remember it’s for Charity and its fun.

This clinic is a continuation of the Beginner/Recreational clinic of the series and is aimed towards newer players to the game as well as those players looking to improve their skills and take their game to the next level. Those participating in this clinic should be confident in throwing both backhands and forehands as the focus will be more about advanced game play than actual skills.

  • Offense (vertical stack review, horizontal stack, dump and swing)
  • Defense (Communication, Switching, Junk)
  • Zone (basic defense and offense)
  • Basics of Defence (person to person, force, marking)
