It's early fall and a chill is in the air. That means two things. Time to think about indoor ultimate and it's also time for our yearly AGM.
This newsletter is to inform you of how you can get involved.
| 2005 AGM - October 26th - 7PM at the SAO building
2006 Board of Directors Nominations:
The Toronto Ultimate Club is seeking a few dedicated volunteers who can help improve the administration of the organization in 2006 and beyond. At our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 26th, there will be an election that will appoint members to the Board for a term that lasts for 2 AGM's (thus, expected to be a 2 year committment). Our Board currently has 9 members, 4 of which are half way through their 2 year appointment to the Board. The Board for 2006 will be comprised of TUC members elected at this year's AGM plus the returning Board members for continuity.
The role of the Board of Directors is to oversee all administration including finances, staff, volunteer, and the long term vision of the club. This is a critical role and ideal candidates will not only bring their experience and passion for the game of Ultimate, but also some critical skills that will help our organization improve its administrative capacity and transparency. Skills that would be beneficial include (but are not limited to) legal, human resources, finance/auditing, public relations, sales and marketing. It is also advantages to have a good diverse mix of opinions and Ultimate backgrounds to ensure the Board can adequately reflect the interests of the entire membership. The expected time committment varies but is approximately 5-10 hours per month between November and March, and 2-4 hours per month between April and October.
If you are interested in nominating a TUC member to the Board of Directors, or are interested in standing for election - you must be present at the AGM for the official nominations and vote. Please be prepared to give a short description of your Ultimate/TUC experience, why you are interested in being a Board member, and what skills/qualifications you bring that would add value to the Club.

| TUC Indoor Ultimate Open House
Have you ever wanted to know what it's like to play Ultimate indoors? Well TUC is giving you the opportunity to give the brand new Turf a try, up at the Hangar for FREE. That's right FREE indoor pickup on the new Turf this Monday October 17, 2005 and Tuesday October 18, starting at 10:45 PM. Next week also the 24th and 25th at 10:45 PM. All TUC members are invited to come out and give this new turf a try. We will then be hosting a number of clinics and introduction to other disc sports in November. More info on that shortly.

As 2005 draws to a close and we wind down 25 years past, it's important to remember how we've gotten to where we are today. That's through the dedication of many volunteers over the years. Please consider the opportunities to sit either on the board or as an executive member.
