The second TUC Hat tournament of 1999 was a success. Almost 40 players came up to Miliken Mills to play a little disc on a Saturday afternoon. It was too bad more players didn't come, we had budgeted for quite a few more, but it was great that those that did come had a good day of Ulty.

Four HAT teams were formed: each having an equal number of A level, B level, and C level players. A round robin schedule was adopted and all games were played for 60 minutes (with no half times). The four teams finished as follows:

1. Well Done (3-0)
2. Heat Wave (2-1)
3. Bandanarama (1-2)
4. Eskimo Pie (0-3)

The final game between Well Done and Heat Wave was quite exciting. The game was played 6 on 6. When the game began, Well Done had only 7 players and Heat Wave had 8 (both teams had begun the day with 9, but some players had to leave early). A couple minutes into the game, a Well Done player dropped out due to a hamstring pull. Heat wave graciously gave them a player to balance out the teams. Both teams led at some time during the game, but never by more than 2. Towards the end of the game, they were tied at 10s and 11s before the sudden death time cap went on - next point wins. Well Done had the advantage as they were both receiving the pull and playing with a tail wind. However, both teams had scored with and against the wind, so it could still be anyone's game. But a couple of swings and a long huck ended the game at 12-11.

Thanks to everyone who came out to play. Hopefully next year's tourney will be better attended.
