ANNOUNCEMENTS: Key Updates for the Upcoming 2025/2026 Season

KEY UPDATES FOR THE UPCOMING 2025/2026 SEASON

TUC leadership wanted to provide our membership with key updates for the upcoming 2025/2026 season as we prepare for the 2025 Summer season.

Updated Refund Policy

TUC has updated its refund policy with important changes regarding the use of existing credits:

No New Credits Issued: As of the 2025/2026 Fiscal Year (April 1st, 2025), TUC will no longer issue credits.
Deadline for Existing Credits: All existing credits must be used by December 31st, 2025. Rights to previously issued credits will be forfeited after this date.
Credit Usage Options: Credits can be applied to membership fees, league fees, or event fees.
Credit Transfers: Players can transfer credits to their team captain to cover individual portions of team fees.

Be sure to plan accordingly and use your credits before the deadline!

New Summer League Option at Lamport Stadium – Thursdays!

TUC is excited to introduce a new Summer Thursday League designed for new and recreational players!

League Details:

Location: All games will be played at Lamport Stadium
Format: 6 vs 6 (minimum 2 men and 2 women on the field)
Game Duration: 70 minutes per game
Seasons: Two 7-week seasons offered throughout the summer
Fees: $650 per team per season
Timeslots: 7:15 PM – 8:25 PM or 8:30 PM – 9:40 PM
Skill Level: Targeted at beginner and recreational players (having a few experienced players per team is encouraged!)

Why Join?

Perfect for New Teams: Play against teams at your level and gain valuable experience.
Coaching Opportunities: Experienced players will be available to provide coaching support.
Bonus Practice: If space allows, we plan to set up one field for clinics, offering players the opportunity to practice and play on the same night.

Registration will open in mid-to-late March.

Note: This league offering is dependent on securing the same Lamport field permits as in previous years.

New Membership Pricing for 2025!

To grow our membership and encourage new players to join, TUC is introducing a new membership fee structure for 2025:

Returning Player Membership: $70 (previously $80)
New Player Membership: $25 (previously $50)

We hope this updated pricing will make it easier for new players to experience Ultimate with TUC and encourage returning members to stay involved.

Womxn's (aged 30+) Clinic Hosted by Lore Ultimate - Wednesday, March 19th, 2025

Dust off your cleats and get ready to hit the field! The Womxn's Masters Ultimate Clinic, hosted by Lore Ultimate, is designed for those looking to re-engage with the sport they love and learn how to play smarter to keep playing longer. This clinic offers a welcoming environment for all skill levels, featuring warm-ups, drills, scrimmages, and discussions on future opportunities in Ultimate.

Whether you're brushing up on fundamentals or refining your strategy, this is your chance to connect with other players and get a head start on the upcoming season.

Who Should Attend:
All women who identify as women and will turn 30+ by the end of 2025 (born in 1995 or earlier) are welcome. All skill levels are welcome!

Cool-down and guided discussion on future playing and leadership opportunities

Wednesday, February 19th, 2025 Open Pick-Up

We’re back this week with another Open Development Scrimmage/Pick-Up—the perfect opportunity for intermediate and competitive players to sharpen their skills, get high-level reps, and prepare for the upcoming season.

What to Expect:

Fast-paced 6v6 play with structured reps
On-field guidance from experienced players & captains
A chance to refine strategy, execution, and decision-making
If demand stays high, this could expand into a full Open League!

Catch the Spirit 2025

We’re back! TUC and BE Ultimate are pleased to announce that we will host the 18th annual Catch the Spirit Indoor High School Tournament on Monday, March 3rd, 2025, at Monarch Park Stadium! This exciting one-day event offers high school teams the chance to compete in a fun, fast-paced Ultimate tournament.

Registration Details

Registration opens on Thursday, February 6th, 2025, at 12:00 PM (noon). Spots are available on a first come, first served basis, and payment is required to confirm registration. Schools may register up to two teams on Thursday, February 6th, 2025.
We aim to have an on-site physiotherapist/first-aid person, and trophies/prizes will be awarded to both the Tournament champions and Spirit champions.

Tournament Format & Details

Date: Monday, March 3rd, 2025
Time: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Monarch Park Stadium
Game Times: Between 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Format: 6-on-6 continuous play (speedpoint)

Gender Ratio: 3:3 (Male: Female)
Divisions: A Division & B Division (teams may be placed accordingly)
Games: Minimum 4 x 35-minute games (up to 5 games if capacity allows)

2025 Winter Indoor League and Programs Registration – Save the Date!

We are excited to announce that our Winter Indoor Season is just around the corner.

Save the Date and mark your calendars and prepare to secure your spot in the league or program of your choice as provided below are when TUC will open up registrations for our various program offerings.

Wednesday Parity League: Registration opens Monday, December 9th, at 10 AM. League and registration info can be found here!
All Other Adult Leagues and Programs: Registration begins Monday, December 16th, with specific times noted in the accompanying graphic.
Junior Programs: Registration opens Monday, December 16th, at 10 AM.

National Day of Truth and Reconciliation - 2024

Today, we honour the lost children and survivors of the resident school system their families and communities.

We acknowledge the loss, pain, and suffering that the residential school system and anti-indigenous racism have caused our communities, friends and neighbours.

We encourage our club members and allies to take the time to reflect, listen and learn. Learn about our nation's rich history and the diversity of our people and cultures, learn about the residential school system, and refer tot he National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation to understand how we, as individuals can work and contribute to fostering reconciliation and healing.

Lastly, we encourage you to check out the resources on the Government of Canada's National Day of Truth and Reconciliation Website, to learn about Orange Shirt Day, and to check out the broadcast of "Remembering The Children: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation" presented by APTN and the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation.
